FYI to savannah-ites ... I noticed that the list of mirrors for ftpmirror.gnu.org, which is the file dl:/usr/local/share/GeoIP/gnu-mirror-list.txt, hadn't been updated since 30 Nov 2011. The script dl:/root/bin/gnu-mirmon.pl was already written to update it, so I ran it by hand and made sure the

Michael or anyone, why do we run ntpdate hourly instead of the usual ntp daemon? (dl:/etc/cron.d/ntpdate) Seems bizarre, to say the least. Just wondering. k

This was manually setup some time back (not by me), since the DomUs time was drifting. ntp needs to update the time every hour to avoid being a second off, from time to time. Of course all clocks drift. My point was that if the ntp *daemon* was running, ntpdate would not have to
