Some of the Regions have made arrangements for Bilingual Judges. If you
wish to volunteer as such or have students who need this service, please
contact your Regional Coordinator. Be sure to also notify Geri Blakely
(553-6238) the City Science Fair Credentials Chairperson, if
Experimental Error: Apparently many judges have complained at the State
Fair that students do not consider the experimental error associated with
their measurements and data collection. As a result, last year IJAS
included a section on 'Estimating Experimental Error' in the guidelines.

Abstract, Safety Sheet, and Endorsements (if applicable) must be displayed on the FRONT of the students' poster board. This was only recommended in the past but is now required. See bottom of pages 53, 55, 58, 60, 63, and 65 in the Participants Handbook.

Every year some students work on projects involving hair and teeth. If your
students go this route this year ask them a couple of questions. Did the
hair (teeth) come from a human or non-human vertebrate? I think so. Do you
need to get a human or non-human endorsement? You betcha. Can you display
That 'no animals on display' rule pertains to humans also. Last year
someone tried to slip a classmate in as the subject of her behavioral
study-forget about it.
And while we are on the subject, leave all those microorganisms home too.
