Where to look at to make any corrections? Regards Hi, Is this just happening with those new kernels? Or is it the new ATI drivers? I've had fonts change when I updated NVidia drivers, but never to the extreme that you've had. I would first try running on an older kernel, see if that changes the font. I would then try getting and older ATI driver and see if that changes the font. My bet is that it's the ATI driver. Hi, 1. gtk2-theme-switch contains switch application to change gtk layout and fonts, see Debian gtk2-theme-switch.deb 2. any of your "chrome ways" does not work, just as I said it is a matter of system's font subsystem (I think so) 3. I made an error littering my system with undeleted ati directories, so - it occurred that: a) ATI 10.9 doesn't compile fglrx driver for latest 10.4 kernel b) ATI 10.9 does compile fglrx driver for former 10.3 kernel I beg your pardon. But the damn small fonts are still present. They can't be changed by any of your suggested ways. Regards -- Przemysław Pawełczyk (P2O2) [pron. Yes but you are wrong. I showed you FF and Sylpheed as Qt and GTK examples respectively. Both Sylpheed and FF got the bad fonts - see the menu of the two apps and the system's IceWM menu fonts as well. No chance to "elongate" them via qt-config or using apps' fonts. It comes from system bowels. But from where? BTW. Other Linuxes have gtk2-theme-switch to change layouts and fonts. What to use in RHEL clones? Regards -- Przemysław Pawełczyk (P2O2) [pron.
