This weekend, I had the pleasure of watching Ms. Berry's nuanced and
honest performance as a rather shallow, somewhat unlikeable woman
struggling with crushing grief after the murder of her husband (the
always likable David Duchovny)in Things We Lost in the Fire. The
movie is not for everyone.
Movies like Monster's Ball are mot typical. European actresses normally
don't have to have wild sex with non European men who killed their husband.
They
normally don't abuse their child by calling them derogatory racist names.
Usually there is more to the film than a sex scene.
