I agree with your statement. I've been very cognizant of the mainstream press's disdain for Spike Lee. I don't let the critics tell me what to think. In my case the trailers and synopses I read didn't draw me in. I feared another "Girl 6", a movie I hated so much I walked out on it, so I stayed away. I couldn't find anyone who'd seen it either, so I had no positive reviews to go on.
