I'll still see it. Half the people whose movies I see have issues, so Cruise is no different. In keeping with his belief system, he's just being more open about his particular idiosyncracies than some actors who front all the time. If there's even a chance that Spielberg can pull off a War of the Worlds that delivers the same impact as the classic George Pal version--which I watch *every* time it's aired on AE or AMC--then I have to see it. I agree. So many writers and actors and directors have issues, if you stayed away just for that you'd never go to the movies. I don't patronize any movies by Woody Allen since he basically molested a young, naive Asian girl who was in all practical purposes being raised as his daughter. The heart wants what he wants indeed. Sorry but he don't get my little change. Same for Roman Polanksi, who drugged a girl he claims he thought was an adult. R. Kelly ain't getting any of my money either. I need to correct something. I was not going to see War of the Worlds. Not because of his crazy antics, but because I prefer to see movies at home. I think if I had planned on seeing it, I would put it off because, it would be hard to see him as simply the character. However, while I am not really a Cruise fan, I LOVED him as the bad guy in collateral and I just saw him the other night in The Last Samurai, and while my husband and I made jokes a few times, we were still able to enjoy the movie.
