Summary: Status Line Coloring Doesn't Work as Expected Project: GNU Screen Submitted by: None Submitted on: Mon 07 Feb 2011 01:52:18 AM UTC Category: User Interface Severity: 3 - Normal Priority: 5 - Normal Status: None Privacy: Public Assigned to: None Open/Closed: Open Discussion Lock: Any Release: 4.0.3 Fixed Release: None Planned Release: None Work Required: None _______________________________________________________ Details: Hi there, I've noticed a problem when defining status lines (caption + hardstatus) using background colors for effect. I can reproduce them on multiple machines running the same screen release. Here is an example screenrc file which demonstrates the issue: # Set the colors for status lines to blue background with default # colored text: sorendition = bd # Install two status lines, both with arbitrary centered messages: caption always "%=hi%=" hardstatus alwayslastline "%=hi again%=" What this results in, is that the caption line (the topmost status line) will display as expected: It will contain the word "hi", centered, on a blue background. But the bottom status line (hardstatus), will NOT display the blue background! Even if it is specifically prefix with color codes that specify them, it won't work. I've attached a screenshot of what this looks like using konsole. Thanks for your time. _______________________________________________________ File Attachments: ------------------------------------------------------- Date: Mon 07 Feb 2011 01:52:18 AM UTC Name: snapshot7.png Size: 23kB By: None A picture of the issue in practice. <http://savannah.gnu.org/bugs/download.php?file_id=22614> _______________________________________________________ Reply to this item at: <http://savannah.gnu.org/bugs/?32376> _______________________________________________ Message sent via/by Savannah http://savannah.gnu.org/
