I have used Scribus 1.4.0rc2 and now using 1.4.0rc5. I have had the same
problems with both so the issues below apply to both. Perhaps some
issues are "pilot errors". I have been working with Scribus for six or
seven months but still have a lot to learn.

I have created a page in Scribus 1.4.0, created an image frame and
imported a photo. the photo needed to be rotated and cropped. I clicked
on Edit Image and the .tif image opened in Gimp. I then did the rotating
and cropping. Now I can't figure out how to get the edited image back
into my Scrib

I have downloaded and installed Scribus vs 1.4.0 onto my Windows 7
computer and checked it out to convince myself that files created with
versions 1.4.0rc2,1.4.0rc5 and 1.4.0rc6 could be opened without a
problem. I now want to uninstall these older versions but cannot find

Greg, I tried to Download into Windows 7 for perusal but I could not
open it in Windows. I get a window asking me what program I want to use

I downloaded Gimp _after_ downloading Scribus and have been unable to
get Scribus
to find Gimp. I went into Scribus (vs 1.4.0rc6) clicked
File>Preferences>External Tools>Image Processing Tool
and Typed in c:\Users\Bob P\.Gimp-2.6. I then clicked OK and Apply. I
right clicked a photo in a Scribus

No, I have Windows 7 and this worked for me. The problem was lack of
knowledge on my part. I'll bet in the future I won't forget going
through the program icon on the desktop to get the path.
