[SEISA] Aggie Fall Results

2012-10-28 Thread Jenny Bender

Howdy!

The regatta began as one of the first cold regattas of the season with
temperatures in the fifties and winds about 10 mph with puffs of 15 mph.
Through out the day, puffy conditions and large wind shifts led to a
heavily tactical day of sailing. The competition was fun, friendly and a
great day for learning. A total of 16 races were run with 8 races in each
fleet in the standard windward-leeward course. There were no protests
filed. Thank you to Rice, University of Texas, and Texas A&M Galveston for
coming out and a special thanks to our race committee led by Conner
Fullerton and assisted by Colin Feik. Congratulations to Texas A&M
University for getting first place.

The official scores can be found on Techscore through the following link:

http://scores.collegesailing.org/f12/aggie-fall/full-scores/

See you all in NOLA next weekend!

Thanks!

2010-11-08 Thread Robert Long

I apologize for the delay in sending this out.

Texas A&M would like to thank everybody who came out to Aggie Fall two weeks
ago. Many great teams came out and filled up the entire 9 boat fleet. Racing
started just after 10:00am with a warm south breeze around 8 knots. Race
committee ran W1's and 2's and managed to get off 9 races in each division.

Thanks to Chris Thorp for doing race committee!

Congratulations to Texas A&M Galveston 1 for their win and for securing a
berth to Charleston Spring. The top four teams will have berths to Sugar
Bowl.

Aggie Fall Regatta
TAMU University
October 31, 2009

Highlights: Rigging began in 5 knot winds, but the wind was below 2
for most of the morning. Races were postponed for 20 minutes and
then a puffy breeze settled in at 3-5 knots. In the afternoon, winds
increased to over 5 knots, peaking out at 7-10.

Thanks to former Aggie sailor Derek Whallen for running the races
under shifty conditions the entire day. Also, thanks to Rachel Ellis
and the SMU team for providing enough sails to complete our fleet.
Lastly, thanks to the A&M Team for hosting.

Congratulations to Tulane for winning Aggie Fall 2009!

Aggie Fall Regatta
Nov 1, 2008
Hosted by Texas A&M University

The regatta opened to no breeze on Lake Bryan and a heavy fog.
Racing was postponed until about eleven o'clock when a 3-5 knot
breeze filled in. Conditions remained shifty all day with the
markset jetski remaining very busy! 12 races were completed in WL1
courses averaging 10-20 minutes.

Congratulations to the University of Texas for winning the regatta.

A huge thanks goes out to Derek Whallen for serving as Race Committee
and the Texas A&M Sailing Team members for helping out the entire day.

[SEISA] Aggie Fall Results

2007-11-06 Thread Derek Whallen

I apologize if this sends twice. It didn't go through the first time.
These results can also be seen on the SEISA website in proper format.

2007 Aggie Fall Regatta

November 03 , 2007
Texas A&M University
College Station, TX

Saturday provided light winds in the morning. The first races started
around 11am, with light shifty breeze around 5 knots. The wind
continued to shift all day long, causing numerous course changes.
Winds died and a short break was taken for lunch after six races in
each division were completed. Two more races were completed after the
breeze picked back up. Eight races were completed in each division on
W/L courses. A total of 3 protests were filed and settled.

Thank you to all members of the Texas A&M Sailing team that
volunteered their help. Thank you to our President Kimberly Kackley's
parents for bringing the RC boat. A final thank you to all the teams
who traveled far and wide to College Station, TX for the weekend. We
enjoyed your company on and off the water.

A final congratulations to USA and UT for qualifying for Charleston
Spring. Along with USA and UT, TAMUCC and TAMU qualify for the Sugar
Bowl Regatta.
