We also have the same system. When the SIRS alert fires, the nurse contacts the physician. If the sepsis alert fires both RN & MD will receive the alert when they open the EMR. If the patient is hemodynamically unstable they call a MET. We developed an SBAR note just for sepsis documentation for MD & RN. Also we developed a physician order set that has all 3 & 6 hour bundle elements.
