WM Super-Tech oil and Castrol oil are SAE rated, so they're fine as long
as the specified SAE rated oil is selected.
Sources of WM Super-Tech oil vary, but currently on the East Coast,
Super-Tech oil is supplied by ExxonMobil. Prior to August
of this year, the oil was supplied by WPP. It's po

Just adding my *hopefully* friendly opinion here.
I don't believe it is all the same, but even the cheap stuff, as long as it is
SAE rated, is adequate provided that you CHANGE THE OIL at least every 5000
miles regardless of how long one will argue that the lubricative properties
will last. M
I'd have to agree with that. Myself, I use Castrol. Or if I don't have a lot
of money, then I'll go with Walmarts cheap stuff. Oil changes in my cars over
the years, have gone over the limits. But they still run. I have damaged a

I doesn't matter if I use forged rods or not.
The last engine I lost I blueprinted, ran ARP bolts and installed the HV oil

The supertech oil passes a standard that meets or exceeds most new car

Checked your trouble codes? How old is your O2 sensor? Have you
replaced all of your vacuum lines yet? Have you checked them for

Hello all,
My car has multiple problems. I thought it was a vacuum leak problem
because I found the line going to the cruise control was corroded bad. I
replaced the hose and it didnt fix it.
It was idleing very poorly. Rpm dropping down to 400-500 then shooting
up to 1500 so it wouldnt die

When I ran engine restore in my old monza years ago. It blew a big hole in the

He then heard a loud crunch sound when the gear end of his cam broke off and

I tried using Duralube from Day 1 in my new Neon. At about 50,000kms I got

If you Google for the Lucas stuff, you will find the answer. In short,
the surface agents they add can cause serious aeration problems.
My Uncle was a Prolong junkie. He is in construction and used it in his
high mileage trucks. There were no ill effects, though the engines did
wear out anyway.
Hi Jason. I'm not to familiar with the products you mentioned but I
remember playing with a hand crank display that showed you how the "X" brand
could not reach the top but the display brand could - might have been Lucas,
I don't remember. Anyway, I would say that would be a bad thing for

Alright, while we are on the subject of lubricants, I might as well ask
some general opinions on some related products.
First off is Lucas Oil Treatment. We've all been sitting at the parts
counter waiting for our turn, and playing with the little crank and
plastic gears, watching the two sides di

This debate has probably worn out keyboards on this mailing list and

Also you have to watch running synthetic oils in the cars that have the higher
mileage (at least the motors) as the synthetic leaks a lot easier where the
regular oil doesn't. Found this out with one of my cars didn't have a leak
until I put in synthetic next oil change changed it back and prob
I agree with what Robert said. I still use Mobil 1, all the time,
