Just adding my *hopefully* friendly opinion here. I don't believe it is all the same, but even the cheap stuff, as long as it is SAE rated, is adequate provided that you CHANGE THE OIL at least every 5000 miles regardless of how long one will argue that the lubricative properties will last. M

If you Google for the Lucas stuff, you will find the answer. In short, the surface agents they add can cause serious aeration problems. My Uncle was a Prolong junkie. He is in construction and used it in his high mileage trucks. There were no ill effects, though the engines did wear out anyway.
