Thanks for all the info. The starter on my 86 GLHS has TURBO written on it?
I've haven't pulled it yet but I can see it has TURBO written (sticker) on the
case. So it must be different then a N/A Omni. I'm thinking it only came on
Turbo GLH.

Totally rebuilt with new solenoid.

I got my bosch rebuilt unit for $70 at murray's discount auto parts with a lifetime
warrenty... I had an old starter with me to match up to make sure it fit (like I
ALWAYS do at discount auto parts stores) so I also got out of the $25 core charge..
even has a heat shield built on! it really
what ever came stock on a 1986 Dodge Omni turbo is the exact same for the 86
Shelby GLHS Omni..
there really isnt that many replacement parts that were that specific..
