I believe you will have to change the pump, pump gears and input shaft
to use the earlier converter in your later 413. I think it would be
much easier and cheaper to just buy a later converter with flats and
just put it in.

I have a new convertor for my 89 413 cept it has early lug drive instead of
the 2 flats. Is it the 83/84 pump I need to use and anything else required to
use this pump in my later trans?
