Found source of problem. At the 60 way connector,bad contacts for hep
pickup.though i was getting continuity reading on my DVM upon further
inspection, It was not readily apparent at first as my eyesight ain't what it
used to be...got a hold of a set of headset mangnifiers and bright enough light
and saw the carnage.. the plug appeared to have been tampered with;eg-wires
poked through to the point of being broken(the cover on back of the plug can be
removed),something shoved into the terminals-expanding and distorting them, and
the plastic retainer for the pins insert had been removed,broken and put back
in. I have worked on this kind of connector before and am careful to the point
of being anal when probing with a meter. It was not readily apparent at first
