How does the lockup work? '89 turbo electronics can't control a lockup
torque converter. Turbo cars didn't get lockup till '91.. Do you have
a toggle switch on the dash or something to engage lockup?

I believe you will have to change the pump, pump gears and input shaft
to use the earlier converter in your later 413. I think it would be
much easier and cheaper to just buy a later converter with flats and
just put it in.

This may sound stupid, but I need bearings and races in my differencial on my
413. I went to NAPA today and they didn't list the bearings. I have an old
413 here and was wondering if I could pull the two end cap deals off the tranny
and the diff gears w/bearings and just swap it all
As far as I know, all turbo a413's came with a 3.02 final drive. Most
others had a 2.78 final. As for replacing the bearings and races, you
can swap the gear and bearing housings, and probably be alright, but you
never know. You should set the preload on the gear to do it right, but
