Changing to TBI would be more reliable, but I think the milage would suffer a
bit. I don't know for sure, but I had fantastic mileage with a carbed 2.2 (and
turbo's) and can't seem to get close to that with a 2.5 tbi. This also may be
the year of cars.

I'm guessing this if for the 89 Acclaim?
Provided that the years are similar you should be fine. Toss the flexplate and
put your flywheel on it and you're golden.
Make sure you do some routine maintenance on the motor before you put it in, so
you don't have to do it later.

remember folks that a carbed omni(except GLH HO) had a 3.05 gearset versus the
TBI omni's 3.56 ratio. Combine tbi with 3.05 and get amazing mpg on highway!
