I have a very vague remembrance of a Golf Channel interview with a ball
manufacturer in the past year in which the representative stated surprisingly
that their studies show that most balls are lost long before their life
expectancy has been reached. I believe he stated that most balls are
I am of the belief that the USGA Board SHOULD be made up of half public lick
players and half private club members. That way the average golfer has a
say in matters.
That will happen when the lake freezes over in August.

A few years ago I read an article (forgot where)
about pros who sand weighted their putters to create a heavy putter. the
article listed four players but I do not recall which ones. I have
experimented with some sand in the shaft with mixed results. I also altered a
few clients and they
The essay is grat, but I am afraid that The last
statement is wrong. In 1858 or for that matter in 2005 a Scotsman would
not be using a quart measurement and 18 shots does not make a 5th either
according to my favorite bartender.

We met here. I corresponded with you privately when I

I agree that some commentators and teaching prosare
misinformed or repeating old, disproven theories.
FYI: A year or so ago, this spot was having another math
discussion. My son had made a remark about
God Bless those that can understand all that
math.
Who ever said that golf is a simple game?
Here is a question:
I wonder if the Tennis or Baseballswing or the football
pass, or any other sports move has been analyized as much?
I still love the game and assembling clubs for people who are
I have a set of those screw drivers on my wall in the shop
with a warning label for my family that they are not Philips head drivers and
will ruin those types of screws.
I also have afewmolds for lead plug inserts
that went into the bottom of woody wood.

Pinned Shafts, hahaha. What about screw in
shafts?
I am a believer. My old driver was a 260cc, 9.5 degree lofted driver with a regular flex Maltby graphite shaft, 44 inches in length. (I have been swinging that length for twenty plus years.)
I switched to a Wishon 915, 360cc Driver with a 10* loft. Same regular flex (only a few frequency points
I would be interested. I already have the plans, but my carpentry skills are very low grade. Also trying to put plans that are onpaper to reality is another skillI am sadly lacking.
Please contact me so we can make arrangements to consummate a deal.
Thanks in advance.

I have sold a few of Tom's 915's.
It is the only club that I have ever sold just from letting people hit it while playing with me.
It has a good quality appearance and the sound is great. I have the 420cc and the 360cc models, but have only sold the 360 models. But that maybe due to the fact
I have both the 360 and the 420 models.
People that have hit them, like them. I have sold two just by letting peopleuse mine on the course.
They like the sound it makes and they like the accuracy.
I have not sold any 420 models as the people that tried it said it appeared to large for them. All
I have a Nike driver coming in. The customer crushed his new driver (less than 5 weeks old) attempting to put on a different grip. Ah, amateurs!
It is a stiff shaft, according to him.
What is a good match?
I am hoping he has left theshaft in the club, so I can get the length measurements.
Thanks
Rich:
I am assuming that your swing speed indicates a stiff flex?
My potential customer has swing speeds that call for a "R" flex. But he has heard that a stiffer flexed club would give him more accuracy. True as this is, I could not give him an estimate as to how much distance he could expect
What could you expect the distance loss would be between a "stiff" flex shaft installation and a "regular" flex shaft, with all other parameters remaining the same?

It is raining again here. The grass is getting very tall. It will be a problem to cut now. Oh, and as for golf, I may take
Just finished my "Freedom toast" and looking forward to my "Freedom Fries " for supper.
A neighbor, a French immigrant, who flew a French Flag from his house last week, came over to talk golf yesterday. I just happened to be playing Sousa marches on the CD at the time. I turned it up while he was
I have no idea. He strutted around the club house and the restaurant while on the course he held loud conversations with other officials. He did not seem to be in charge. But I never did learn what his official duties were. All I heard him do was complain about the cart, the food and if the
Dave: Check the date at the USGA site. the last time I looked it had not been updated for 2003.
The only golfers the USGA are concerned with are the "Country Club" players. We, of the public course domain, are just caddies on their days off.
I have witnessed two separate conversations, at two different courses, with different officials, and the only thing they were concerned about was what
What is the WEB site for the USGA non conforming clubs?
I have to reglue some wooden dining room chairs. The stabilizer rungs have become unglued. I was planning on utilizing my trustee club assembly epoxy for the task. But, last night a warning bell started ringing in my head. Usually it is a police siren, but that is a different problem. Are there
Thank You for all the replies. I the warning bell was saying something about the glue needing elasticity and that the epoxy would not have this.
As for my memory, I too, did wood head and wooden shaft work in the past. I replaced a few hickory shafts and assembled quite a few wooden headed clubs
I just checked the site and it was the 2002 listings, not 2003.

Thanks. I thought maybe my server was getting the old info.
My daughter has three degrees and her staff all have degrees and the program has only missed a scant few times with them in five days of playing with it.
Although, I got all the answers correct, I have some thoughts.
Besides the was coke bottles, I also had chocolate licorice sticks.
I had a 55 Chevy that had the dimmer switch on the floor. A 58 Chevy may also have had it on the floor.
I used string on some occasions to keep my skates on.
I just checked Wishon Golf's web site. It is till not in operation. I was under the impression it was supposed to be operating by January 1st and the catalogues were to be mailed around February 1st. I hope things will are going well there in the mountains?
You could also use play sand down the shaft.
I question if this design is legal. I know that Sam Snead once used the croquet stroke and it was outlawed. This comes close. I am, by no means an expert, but I wold like to see what the USGA says.
I had the same problem printing the chart. When I viewed the chart I discovered that page 4 is missing. My printer will only print to page 3. Then you have to give it another print command to print page 5 thru 13. The document should have a page 4. Some information is missing.
A couple of weeks ago there was discussions on making a club similar to the Whippy. There was some mention of using a Driveway Marker for the shaft. This driveway marker: Is that the rod with a reflector attached?
Thanks in advance.

A couple of questions:
How much pressure should be used?
Should you utilize some sort of clamping device over the shaft? I sort of remember reading something about a clamp or shield on one WEB site or another.
Thanks in advance.
Ed
Thanks for the replies. I am glad you all realized that I meant blowing off the grips.
My compressor can put out more than 100 pounds of pressure, henceforth the question.
I have already removed a dozen grips without losing one, but was concerned I was doing it correctly. Note: These were grips I
