I have a very good friend that has rhumatoid arthritis, and I was wondering if
anyone on the llist has had/or does have it and what treatment worked for you?
Thanks, Kathy
My Aunt had it and when she took all offending foods out of her diet the
symptoms went away. When she would slip up and eat something she shouldn't
she would know because it would flare up. For her nightshades and dairy
were the worst.

Dear group memembers, I have heard from the interenet that taking colloidal
silver is helpful in the threatment of cataracts? Is that true? If you know
anything would you elaborate about the prospects of collodial silver reversing
cataracts?

I've heard the diet path helps many. Didn't seem to make much of a
difference for me. In fact, hot red peppers were part of my relief -
topically. MSM and DMSO have pretty well relieved my problems though. Sara

My first question is what are you doing about the diabetes? If the diabetes
is contributing to the eyesight issues it would seem to me that would be the
first priority since anything you do for the eyesight will be counteracted
by the diabetes. I do believe it has a great deal to do with
I'm surprised no one has mentioned LDN.
That has proven to be very effective at healing RA according to what I have
read.
Apparently with very few side effects.
Certainly worth a try if you can get a prescription.

Another thing I thought of is that some consider RA to be an infection.
Have you researched this area?

I have a nightshade sensitivity and find that Alka-Seltzer Gold
(different form regular Alka-Seltzer) would help neutralize the
acidity and the effects of nightshades and citrus and ease pain
within a half hour. Body ph is very important with auto-immune and
inflammatory diseases. I have
I recommend you read about diabetes and cataracts here:

Ray Peat's ideas about diabetes are totally opposite to what you will
read in conventional medicine or from the ADA, etc. But worth exploring,
as his diet is really easy and also cheap to implement.
I have been following
Does he have specific dietary info available? See a smattering of
articles that may touch on a variety of such issues, but nothing that
presents his diet ... Sara

Hi,
I found this is it what you are doing?
I think the basic anti-aging diet is also the best diet for prevention and
treatment of diabetes, scleroderma, and the various connective tissue
diseases. This would emphasize high protein, low unsaturated fats, low
iron, and high antioxidant
Hi Elbert,
I'm so sorry you're in this situation and I know it must be very
scary for you. I'm not really conversant with diabetes, and I'm sure
that treating that is your first line of defense.
I just have Lyme disease which has caused lots and lots of floaters,

So far as I know, Peat has never written any actual eating guidelines,

Thanks for the input... I'm up for change, but something about this
plan doesn't seem to resonate for me. Not sure what or why - its not
cuz it bucks traditional wisdom - I'm all for that! But it doesn't seem
to be what I'm looking for - have a sense of there being something I'm

Someone mentioned that it would be helpful if you got your blood sugar
under control.
My hubby was diagnosed with diabetes a year ago. Following the 'Zone'
diet, his sugar (which was reading 300 - 400 and his AC1 at 12.5,
dropped to 95 - 112 and AC1 to 6.5 in just six weeks. His doctor was
If you do get a prescription for it, a good compounding pharmacy to use is
Skip's in Florida. They're cheap and their customer service is great. They
also know their stuff. They're even happy to change the filler to one of
your choice if need be.
Also remember that LDN is an Opioid blocker
Have you tried Coconut Water from young coconuts? I've heard that it works
wonders with cataracts. It has to be from young coconuts though. You can
buy them in Asian markets. Google it for the full procedure.
