Oxalic acid (available in powder form) can be mixed with water and
scrubbed into wood with a stiff long handled broom while washing a deck
with a garden hose to refresh its color. At least it works on redwood.

That's interesting. DMSO is from wood lignin. Might work. Thanks..
I wonder if you could use DMSO? Being a penetrant and a solvent?

deck that is just yellow pine and is a very nice gray color after about 3 years
in the sun. I like the color, but if I use the treatment
