Again, the question is whether you want them to be "read only" to the
device simulator or to SCP itself.
Typically, I've wanted paper-tape readers to respond to DEPOSIT, so that
I can make changes or corrections to an input file. The "read only"
nature of a paper-tape reader comes from the dev

Mark Pizzolato pointed out that UNIT_RO is cleared unconditionally at
DETACH. This makes static declaration of a unit as UNIT_RO impossible.
He has proposed a change to distinguish a "static" read-only unit
(UNIT_RO set but not UNIT_ROABLE) from the usual "dynamic" read-only,
set by ATTACH -R o
A small suggestion... while you can probably get the 780 to recognize and
support a TU58, booting from it may be difficult (I did not find it
mentioned in any SDP or other doc). The 780 family has a dedicated PDP-11
with RX floppy drives that runs as the 'front end' for it and boots it.

Great news! Thank you, Roberto.

Hi Folks
The first release of the IBM 650 computer simulator is available from the
Computer History Simulation Project (SIMH) site: https://github.com/simh/simh
This release supports basic machine with 2K drum memory, a IBM 533 card
read-punch, and a IBM 407 for printing.
There is a IBM 650 Sim
Further to recent communications on this topic (for which many thanks to those
persons) and some thinking I have a potential/possible reason that I would like
comments on.
My thinking goes that if in the virtualisation setup I have the "disk" is not
responding quickly enough for the RL driver i
