There's no need to petition for an update. Just do this:
1. open the ffmpeg.SlackBuild script
2. replace 2.8.7 with 3.2.2
3. Download the sources (the URL is in the ffmpeg.info file, replacing
2.8.7 with 3.2.2)
4. build and install.
I just tried it, exactly as described, and it built
Qt5 is included in the slackbuilds.

shouldn't be a problem... email David Somero and ask him if he can push an
update for mythtv.
