[Slackbuilds-users] Iosevka 28.0.6 not found

Hi there, I use -current (and vtown on top of that), but I think this applies to 14.2 too. Problem: there's a mismatch in bluefish version numbers. Both the ChangeLog and the SlackBuild refer to version 2.2.12 while the Info and the SlackBuild page refer to version 2.2.11, and thus building is not possible unless either supplying a newer 2.2.12 as source or editing the SlackBuild to reduce version number. [Slackbuilds-users] Error downloading fet
Using Slackware-current so YMMV. Downloading fet-5.44.8 gives a 404 error. The download URL is not correct, it seems. Looks like fet-5.44.8 was changed to an "older versions" folder, and the last version is now 5.44.9. I would suggest updating fet to the latest version (5.44.9). Editing the SlackBuild in the version number field and updating the URL would solve this problema, and the latest version builds smoothly here. [Slackbuilds-users] Problem downloading pdfchain - may affect other packages
I use -current but I believe this issue affects any Slackware verson so I report here. Today I tried to build pdfchain with sbopkg and I had a problem: the file name of the downloaded source file should have been 'pdfchain-0.4.4.2.tar.gz' but came as 'download' instead. Then, sbopkg promptly complained that it couldn't build the package since the source was nowhere to be found. I think this have to do with sourceforge.net's download system, which is unnecessarily convoluted and obfuscated, so maybe other packages with source downloaded from sf.net may be affected. Renaming the 'download' file to the appropriate name solves the problem and building can proceed without issue. Possible workarounds may involve using wget -O parameters. Hi, I use SBo in -current but I believes this applies to everyone. The Brave browser cannot be installed with the SlackBuild shipped in update 20180203.1. [Slackbuilds-users] Problem: MD5 fail in GeoIP
Hi there: Posting here because I suspect the problem applies even to the official slackbuilds despite the fact that I use current. [Slackbuilds-users] [Workaround] Bibletime 2.11 segfaults with Qt 5-9
I use Slackware-current and additionally, I use Alienbob's Plasma 5 packages. Therefore, the qt5 version I use is 5.9.0. Under that particular Qt version, bibletime segfaults immediately upon startup. I reported the bug upstream. Upstream answered that this is due to a particular Qt5 bug which is yet to be patched. However, in the meantime they checked a workaround for that bug in both master and stable-2.11 branch. I checked out the stable-2.11 branch. It compiled and ran OK. So, I would suggest to replace the bibletime-2.11 source with a github check of the stable-2.11 branch until the bibletime folks make another release. I know this happens only in -current (I know, unsupported...) and with Qt 5.9 (even less supported) but this could be useful. Best regards Eduardo -- Eduardo Sánchez Gauto, Abog., Th.M. Re: [Slackbuilds-users] Problems building neofetch
Well, it's a typo or some kind of mismatch, but it's upstream. The tarball is identified as 3.0 but upon uncompressing the directory carries the 3.0.1 version. [Slackbuilds-users] Problems building neofetch
Using Slack64-current but this is something that could be seen in any Slack version. After last Saturday (Feb 04 2017) updates, neofetch cannot be built. This is because there is a mismatch between the version number of the software (3.0.1) and the tarball itself (3.0). I worked around this by editing the SlackBuild. My changes/additions are marked as (+++). I added a new variable $TARID: > PRGNAM=neofetch > VERSION=${VERSION:-3.0.1} > BUILD=${BUILD:-1} > TAG=${TAG:-_SBo} > +++ TARID=${TARID:-3.0} And then modifying the tarball extraction line: > rm -rf $PKG > mkdir -p $TMP $PKG $OUTPUT > cd $TMP > rm -rf $PRGNAM-$VERSION > +++ tar xvf $CWD/$PRGNAM-$TARID.tar.?z* > cd $PRGNAM-$VERSION > chmod 644 $DOCS And that's it. Please don't ask me to submit a patch. The patch commandline syntax is something I cannot master no matter how much I try. ;) Regards, Eduardo -- Eduardo Sánchez Gauto, Abog., Th.M. I can confirm I can run pioneer without problems (so far) after building libtxc_dxtn. I suggest noting this dependency where it is relevant. Hi there: Brent and Daniil suggested me to install libtxc_dxtn. I will do so, but meanwhile please be advised that libtxc_dxtn is not listed neither as a build nor runtime dependency on pioneer: https://slackbuilds.org/repository/14.2/games/pioneer/?search=pioneer I'd suggest updating the SlackBuild's documentation in order to take this dependency into account. Re: [Slackbuilds-users] BUG: pdftk decrypt doesn't work
Hi Greg: 1. I don't have an idea of what was used to encrypt the pdf. It was a book downloaded from the 'net. However, it was decrypted without a hitch by qpdf. 2. pdftk was compiled on current. [Slackbuilds-users] BUG: pdftk decrypt doesn't work
This was observed in Slackware64-current but it could well be the case with Slackware-14.2. Using the latest pdftk from SBo, an attempt to decrypt a PDF fails: Command Line: $ pdftk secured.pdf input_pw mypasswd output \ unsecured.pdf Output: Error: Unexpected Exception in open_reader() Unhandled Java Exception in main(): java.lang.NullPointerException at gnu.gcj.runtime.NameFinder.lookup(libgcj.so.16) at java.lang.Throwable.getStackTrace(libgcj.so.16) at java.lang.Throwable.stackTraceString(libgcj.so.16) at java.lang.Throwable.printStackTrace(libgcj.so.16) at java.lang.Throwable.printStackTrace(libgcj.so.16) Thankfully I was able to decrypt the PDF afterwards using Slackware's stock qpdf, but I nevertheless wanted to report this in case you guys could find a workaround. [Slackbuilds-users] BUG: gst-plugins-bad building fails with Qt 5.7; workaround
Building gst-plugins-bad fails on libqtsink_la-gstqsgtexture.lo in my system (-current). The compiler output is actually quite large at the point, but the crux of the matter seems to be this message: # error "Qt requires C++11 support" Upon some investigation, it looks like the culprit is Qt 5.7, which requires C+11. The workaround would be to explictly enable the compiler to use C++11 during compilation. That is achieved by adding "-std=c++11" to SLKCFLAGS. After that step, gst-plugins-bad builds correctly. Below is the output of the failed build with the stock SlackBuild. [Slackbuilds-users] BUG: sayonara-player 0.9.2 segfaults; complex, untested workaround
Sayonara player 0.9.2 compiles OK but segfaults upon running. I got exactly the same output as this forum thread at upstream's website: https://sayonara-player.com/forum/viewthread.php?tid=277 Apparently, this is what happens: sayonara requires gst-plugins-bad, *but now* gst-plugins-bad must be compiled with soundtouch support (which is also on SBO). Doing this would enable the software to run. However, I was unable to check this because building gst-plugins-bad fails in my system (that would be another bug report). [Slackbuilds-users] BUG: Bibletime 20.10.1 build fails with qt 5.7x
Hi: Bibletime 2.10.1 (the SlackBuilds.org version) building fails under qt 5.7. I know that the Qt version required by bibletime is Qt4 IIRC, but Qt5 is even in SBo and I think that 2.10.x fails to pick the correct Qt version and thus compilation fails. This is fixed upstream in 2.11x branch, which now requires Qt5. I was able to edit the SlackBuild for bibletime-2.11_rc2 and I got a successful compilation and package which runs fine on Qt5. (Just editing the version number and the name of the source file, and changing README for README.md on the /usr/doc package did the trick). Thus, I would propose any of the following: a) make sure bibletime 2.10.1 (current version) picks Qt4; or b) upgrade to 2.11x branch and include Qt5 as a requirement. Thank you! Below I paste the building output from the unmodified SlackBuild. [Slackbuilds-users] BUG: html5lib - source not found
on the html5lib, the download link gives a 404 error (not found). It is possible to work around the issue by manually search on GitHub the relevant package (which turns out to be now html5lib-python-0.90), but it is not so trivial and not intuitive to do so by an inexperienced user. This is all the more relevant since html5lib is on the dependency chain for inkscape (inkscape depends on lxml which in turn depends on this package).
