Re: [Slackbuilds-users] Call for Help

2024-04-25 Thread Willy Sudiarto Raharjo
what is the significance of the "raw" lists as opposed to "WIP:
Overview"?

I see graphics/Blender in "raw list i585" but it builds fine here in a
clean up to date VM.

Sorry, it wasn't quite clean - earlier 32bit patch is not needed and I'd
already removed it so build succeeded.

The question still is about difference between raw lists and WIP overview.

The RAW list are those who hasn't been triaged, so it's just a list of
failing scripts, without being inspected further.

They could be false alarm as mentioned on my original email.

There are also some occasion where the CI can't properly test the script
because of some special requirements, such as installing packages from
slackware's extra (ispc need newer llvm) or can't be installed on a
container (qt6ctl can't properly detect qt6 due to conditional situation
in the code). There's no hint available for such cases, so manual
inspection need to be done (i approved ispc after testing them manually
on a clean VM outside github CI engine)

Maybe Andrew can give more detail explanation about this

Is there a list with maintainer names, that they abandoned their
slackbuilds?

https://slackbuilds.org/maintainer_status.html
i haven't updated this list but this should give a good start

i think we can make a list of maintainers who dropped their scripts

Re: [Slackbuilds-users] zoom support for Slackware 14.2

2024-04-25 Thread Willy Sudiarto Raharjo

Will slackbuilds.org still support an updated version (at least v. 5.14.5)
of zoom for Slackware 14.2? I need to upgrade to 15.0 in order to use the
zoom app (which is currently v. 5.17.11.3835), but that's a rather major
effort. Any thoughts?

Unfortunately we don't support any other branch other than the latest
Slackware Stable.
You can try to use the zoom-linux script for 15.0 in order to build the
package for 14.2 since it's a binary repack, so it should work as well.

[Slackbuilds-users] Call for Help

2024-04-24 Thread Willy Sudiarto Raharjo

Hi all

Andrew has compiled a list of FTBFS (Fail to Build From Source) which
are listed here: https://github.com/SlackBuildsOrg/slackbuilds/issues/5827.

If you are the maintainer of those packages, please check them and fix
it. If you are using those scripts and have some time, please help us to
fix those scripts.

Some of those are just md5sum mismatches, so it's easy to fix, but some
are broken due to updates from one of it's deps or maybe there's a
chance in upstream but the maintainer didn't notice or maybe even worse,
maintainer is no longer active and scripts are abandoned.

You can submit fixes via pull requests, so it's easy to verify using our
CI engine.

Thanks

i know that the builds from "pending" may disappear for some hours or a

On Tuesday i submitted amSynth, which among other builds has disappeared

Is it to be expected that these builds will appear this week on SBo?

You should check in https://github.com/SlackBuildsOrg/slackbuilds/pulls

Re: [Slackbuilds-users] msgpack-c-c in pending approved need a fix, please remove

2024-04-17 Thread Willy Sudiarto Raharjo
Sorry for the request, but Ivan Kovmir has just now reported an issue
with this package.

The download URL currently included in info does not work at the same
mode using different clients:

1) a web browser save the source with the archive
msgpack-c-c-$VERSION.tar.gz

2) wget save the same download with the archive msgpack-c-$VERSION.tar.gz

This affects the slackbuild script because it fails depending on the
client used for dowload the source tarball. I usually use the web browser.

I found the following URL works fine using bot clients:
https://github.com/msgpack/msgpack-c/releases/download/c-6.0.1/msgpack-c-6.0.1.tar.gz

but I have to fix also the slackbuild script, since it is based on a
different path of the tarball (msgpack-c-c and not msgpack-c).

So, if you remove the update from the approved list I can submit a new
tarball including the fix for info and script files

done

Re: [Slackbuilds-users] Updates - 20240323.1

2024-03-23 Thread Willy Sudiarto Raharjo
ITK slackbuild requires to be fixed for build against gtest 1.12.1. The
build works if gtest is not installed, I think with a bundle googletest,
but if a googletest system is found, it is used by default.
Unfortunately cmake returns an error if gtest 1.12.1 is installed. I
solved passing this flag to cmake:

-DITK_USE_SYSTEM_GOOGLETEST=OFF

This should be added in the slackbuild script, otherwise ITK must be

Re: [Slackbuilds-users] suggestion for a new category for fonts

2024-03-21 Thread Willy Sudiarto Raharjo

I realize that the SBo volunteers do a lot of work for the Slackware
community, and I would not want to unduly add to the workload. Having said
that, would the work load be acceptable if
(a) you created the categories (fonts and Slackware-specific), and
(b) whenever a maintainer puts in a new version, it goes into the new
 category.

moving category is more work during normal cycle because you have to
move the files via git and during public update, we need to remove the
leftover tarball and signature of it. It's ok for small number of
scripts (less than 5), but if you do massive move on a week, that's a
lot of work and we might slip few of them (it happened before until
someone posted on LQ and we had massive cleanups few weeks ago)

during development cycle, since we don't have any repository, tarball,
and signatures, we only work in git tree. Those tarball and signatures
will be created when new repository is ready. This is the perfect time
actually, but i would rather spend my time fixing scripts not working
rather than moving scripts :)

Re: [Slackbuilds-users] suggestion for a new category for fonts

2024-03-21 Thread Willy Sudiarto Raharjo

OK, so in that case, why do we have categories at all? Would it bother
you to get rid of them entirely? Other than the amount of work it
would take to accomplish it, I mean. Would we be better off if there
had never been categories?

actually removing it will have more work to do as to change the whole
backend process and website code refactoring

Re: [Slackbuilds-users] suggestion for a new category for fonts

2024-03-20 Thread Willy Sudiarto Raharjo

Currently fonts are put under category system, they mix with other
system tools. Would it be better to have a separate category (fonts)
for them?

This is my personal opinion and do not express other admin's opinion

i think having more categories doesn't really give benefits to this
project besides cosmetic values. It just adds more work moving scripts
around during development cycle, adding new categories in the database,
web forms, etc.

Since we have search form in our website, i wonder how many people would
go through each categories when looking for some scripts instead of just
using the search form?

During development cycle (which usually started when Pat declared Alpha
or Beta version of Slackware-Current), admins will be busy verifying
each scripts in the repo to make sure it builds fine against
slackware-current, which will be a moving target since Pat usually have
a long period of testing before he declares stable release.

Some of these scripts have been checked and fixed by Ponce so it gives a
headstart for us, but we have over 9k scripts (per December 2023) and
it's growing each week. There are tons of work to make sure the new repo
is ready when next Slackware is released and we are targeting for
same-day release (if it's possible).

I asked if I could take it over - I think we were waiting for an answer
from the admins

You should ask the maintainer if the maintainer is still active

Re: [Slackbuilds-users] Mumble gtav plugin compile error on Slackware 32-bit

2024-03-18 Thread Willy Sudiarto Raharjo

Seems there was some sort of omission or regression (or "Who still uses
32-bit?") when the gtav plugin is compiled for mumble. This was fixed
previously in mumble-master but somehow did not end up in mumble-1.4.287

I've posted the fix to my branch for the next update. However, other
than a qemu VM (not set up for audio), I'm not able to test fully.

Thanks for this update
can you also test with latest protobuf3?

Re: [Slackbuilds-users] audacity fails to build if wxWidgets is built with STL=yes

2024-03-08 Thread Willy Sudiarto Raharjo
it turns out that _audacity_ fails to build if _wxWidgets_ is built with
`STL=yes`.

The error is:

```
error: cannot convert ‘wxString’ to ‘const char*’
```

Maybe add a note in the wxWidgets' README about that?

a note in audacity is probably the correct action

Re: [Slackbuilds-users] WIP: protobuf3 25.3

2024-03-02 Thread Willy Sudiarto Raharjo
i have just started to work on protobuf3 updates, pushing 2y of works by
upstream since last update.

However, there are 26 other scripts which depends on protobuf3, listed
here (https://slackbuilds.org/advsearch.php?q=protobuf3=revdep1)

although we do have CI engine that could help us test whether the new
update will break them or not, it won't help us testing the runtime
issues. Therefore, i would like to ask for help by those who are using
these 26 packages to see if by upgrading protobuf3 and rebuilding them
will have any runtime issues or not.

I will keep the protobuf3 updates for future public update (like 1-2
weeks delay) to give others more time to test.

[Slackbuilds-users] WIP: protobuf3 25.3

2024-03-01 Thread Willy Sudiarto Raharjo

Hi

i have just started to work on protobuf3 updates, pushing 2y of works by
upstream since last update.

The protobuf3 update can be seen here
https://git.slackbuilds.org/slackbuilds/log/?h=protobuf3-wip

Big thanks in advance

Re: [Slackbuilds-users] Updates - 20240210.1

2024-02-12 Thread Willy Sudiarto Raharjo

My diagnosis is that the configure script from filezilla found an
incompatible version when running wx-config. It has found a version 3.0
"config" (actually, I'm not sure what this component really is) which
belongs to wxGTK3 (3.0.5), when it should get the version 3.2.4 from
wxWidgets (3.2.4).

I could work around this applying the patch below to
filezilla.Slackbuild, which makes the configure script grab the correct
"config":

diff --git a/network/filezilla/filezilla.SlackBuild
b/network/filezilla/filezilla.SlackBuild
index b986f14f0a..639e14ff78 100644

+WX_CONFIG_NAME=/usr/lib${LIBDIRSUFFIX}/wx/config/gtk3-unicode-3.2 \
  ./configure \
--prefix=/usr \
--libdir=/usr/lib${LIBDIRSUFFIX} \

did you recently rebuild any other wx* package besides wxWidgets?
that could explain why wx-config point you to the incorrect location as
those packages have race condition. Whoever comes last will be the one
pointed whenever any packages are locating wx-config.

Re: [Slackbuilds-users] Fwd: unattended package python3 3.7.2

2024-02-12 Thread Willy Sudiarto Raharjo

I think OP found in oversight in the SBo tree. Removed packages are not fully
being removed. That is, the *.tar.gz and *.tar.gz.asc files are not being
deleted. For example, QtiPlot was removed March 2022 but QtiPlot.tar.gz and
QtiPlot.tar.gz.asc are still available at
https://slackbuilds.org/slackbuilds/15.0/academic/

See
https://www.linuxquestions.org/questions/slackware-14/slackbuilds-rsync-have-uncompressed-packages-4175733765/#post6483028

Well, they should have been removed, but probably i missed that part :)
it's now removed, but let us know if you found any leftover tarball that
should have been deleted

Re: [Slackbuilds-users] Linphone maintenance

2024-02-07 Thread Willy Sudiarto Raharjo

What WSR is responding is factually wrong.

I have submitted the slackbuild for the most recent version of linphone
(submitted as linphone-desktop, because nowadays linphone is very
different from what it was in the past, and the developers, Belledonne
Communications, keep it in a separate repo from the old linphone).

The code is here:
https://gitlab.com/Lockywolf/lwfslackbuilds/-/tree/master/05_submitted/linphone-desktop?ref_type=heads

It was rejected for the reason of being "for the alpha version".
(WSR's own responce from Sat, 23 Sep 2023 10:34:46 +0700)

do you mind to wait until 5.2.0 is released or go for previous version which is
released under stable label?

So I have been waiting for the 5.2.0 since.

You can roll-back to the most-recent non-alpha, and re-submit, I do not
mind.

They have released 5.2.1 6 days ago

2. However, if I just download version 5.0.0 directly from git (later
versions

require cmake 3.2.2) on either Slackware -current or 15.0:

You don't have to do any of that, just change the hashes in my build,
and re-submit.

Looking at your scripts, maybe a possibility would be to rename the old
Linphone in SBo repos linphone-3 - and make a note that it can't be
installed on the same system as linphone-app. This way linphone-app
could place its binaries in the usual /usr/bin?

do we need to keep the old version?
if not, just use the current script and update it to any version you
would like to use

nope, maintainer is no longer active, so if you are willing to take over

Re: [Slackbuilds-users] BcToolbox download link broken - but later version will compile on 15.0

2024-02-06 Thread Willy Sudiarto Raharjo
Hello. In case it helps - the download link for BcToolbox v0.6.0 is
broken - but I've managed to compile version 5.2.2 using the SBo scripts
on 15.0 without complaints (the SlackBuild script needs amending
slightly for the location of some of the docs file). Versions after
5.2.2 require cmake 3.22, which Slackware 15.0 doesn't have.

Unless there is a particular reason to stick with BcToolbox 0.6.0 - if
anyone knows?

i think maintainer is no longer active as he never update the script
since he submitted it back in 2017

if you are using it actively, i would suggest to take over
maintainership of this script

Re: [Slackbuilds-users] icalendar & python3-icalendar Duplicate

2024-02-04 Thread Willy Sudiarto Raharjo

It seems that icalendar has been added twice by tonus. One as
python/icalendar and another as python/python3-icalendar.

https://slackbuilds.org/repository/15.0/python/icalendar/
https://slackbuilds.org/repository/15.0/python/python3-icalendar/

There seems to be no real difference between the two, so I propose we
remove icalendar and keep python3-icalendar.

Only desktop/calcure will need its REQUIRES line updated.

Thanks for spotting that
it's removed in my branch

Re: [Slackbuilds-users] Updates - 20240120.1

2024-01-20 Thread Willy Sudiarto Raharjo
Hi Willy, I took the slackbuild of osm2pgsql because orphanized for a
long time, but the latest release supports only 64-bit architectures. So
I sumitted osm2pgsql-legacy (new) that is the same slackbuild of
Benjamin Trigona-Harany update to the latest release compatible also
with 32-bit architectures (version 1.9.2). This slackbuild will remain
as is without any update in the future, whereas osm2pgsql should be
updated for any new release (with 32-bit unsupported).

I submitted also the new osm2pgsql update for version 1.10.0 (the
latest) but something was wrong because it does not appears in the
updates. The current osm2pgsql is still at the version of Benjamin
(1.4.2) that is older than the legacy version (updated to 1.9.2). Why is
it lost? the build has ben tested in current and 15.0 stable updated
with the patches, both sbopkglint and sbolint returned OK and the
tarball submitted has remained for a few days in pending, but not
appeared in the approved list. No reports by admins I received about it,
so I don't know if there is issues.

Do I have to send again the same tarball?

PS: if it is useful, a copy of the updated version of osm2pgsql is
available in my github repository:
https://github.com/giandex/slackbuilds.org/tree/main/gis/osm2pgsql

My bad
i commented that it was merged, but i didn't merged the PR
https://github.com/SlackBuildsOrg/slackbuilds/pull/4594

it's already pushed to my branch now, so it will be shown in the next
update.

Re: [Slackbuilds-users] gnustep-base fails to build with libxml2 ver. 2.11.x

2024-01-20 Thread Willy Sudiarto Raharjo

gnustep-base fails due to this bug:
https://github.com/gnustep/libs-base/issues/294

The fix is to remove 4 lines from Source/Additions/GSXML.m:

sed -i '/if (ret->checked == 0)/,+3d' Source/Additions/GSXML.m

or apply this patch:
https://github.com/gnustep/libs-base/commit/37913d0

is this for -stable or -current?
i tested on -stable and it still build just fine

Ok, I see.. So in this case I think the name should be
"python3-gbinder-python", perhaps a bit complex but clearly identifies
python release and real name of the project.

python3-gbinder is enough, no need to have another python at the back

how do you "simply make a pull request"?

you can use github-cli to do that or just push it to your github account
and you will see a PR button in your github page to send PR to the

Re: [Slackbuilds-users] Updates - 20240106.1

2024-01-09 Thread Willy Sudiarto Raharjo

I never group PR for unrelated packages.
A single commit should only be on one package, not multiple packages.

I've always grouped unrelated packages into a single PR. I've asked in the
past if they'd prefer one PR per package (or related packages) or all in
one PR and they said it doesn't matter.

I just create an updates branch after each public update and will update my
packages throughout the week on my local machine. Towards the end of the
week, I'll push my changes to GitHub and submit a PR.

I have no issues changing my workflow if SBo admins would prefer a certain
method, but when I've asked in the past, they said whatever works best for
me.

basically it doesn't matter whether it's one big PR or separate PR, but
personally i prefer split PR, unless it's a dependency, then it must be
in one big PR

having split PR is just easier for us (admins) to review the build
process and also to write the trigger command to run the build.

also, make sure to write the commit message as "category/package:
Updated for x.y.z" format or other informative message and never leave
blank message.

Re: [Slackbuilds-users] python packages needing new setuptools

2024-01-05 Thread Willy Sudiarto Raharjo

Just came accross an error in a python package I maintain.
A module would not be detected. While using `pip check` I found
following problems as well :

```
sphinx 4.5.0 has requirement importlib-metadata>=4.4, but you have
importlib-metadata 0.0.0.
pytest-timeout 2.1.0 has requirement pytest>=5.0.0, but you have pytest
0.0.0.
importlib-metadata 0.0.0 has requirement zipp>=0.5, but you have zipp
0.0.0.
build 1.0.3 has requirement importlib-metadata>=4.6; python_version <
"3.10", but you have importlib-metadata 0.0.0.
```

Using python3-setuptools-opt solved the problem for holidays module.

Il will put maintainers in copy of this mail (not sure for pytest).

2024-01-02 Thread Willy Sudiarto Raharjo
Hey all, I was trying to install bozohttpd when I noticed that
www.eterna.com.au was down/gone.

Aside from bozohttpd, this also means that ircII won't build either.

If the mirror is replaced, I recommend using NetBSD's pkgsrc distfiles
located here: http://ftp.netbsd.org/pub/pkgsrc/distfiles/ as it has the
source tarballs there. Either that, or archive.org would work.

Re: [Slackbuilds-users] maintainer status report

2023-12-29 Thread Willy Sudiarto Raharjo

Oh.. 3 are out of date: gmsh 4.12.0 was released a few days ago :)

i pulled the data from repology which hasn't been updated with our
latest public update, so it's not 100% accurate, but to give overall
report of our repository

we also have some scripts stuck at some version due to unsatisfied
dependency not available in SBo or need higher version of packages in
core Slackware, so it's not a big deal.

Re: [Slackbuilds-users] Tests updating Lazarus to version 3.0

2023-12-26 Thread Willy Sudiarto Raharjo

I checked all dependencies of new shiny Lazarus 3.0

lazarus
├ cqrlog  (Gustavo Conrad )
             --> builds ok and starts
├ ddrescueview  (Jeremy Hansen )    -->
builds ok and starts
├ *doublecmd-qt5 * (Hao Chi Kiang )
--> *LazUTF8Classes were deprecated* and now are removed from
Lazarus 3.0. This breaks doublecmd-qt5 slackbuild
├ easymp3gain  (Chernov V. V. )   -->
builds ok and starts
├ transgui  (Jeremy Hansen )
--> builds ok and starts

└*winff * (Vijay Marcel ) --> *fails in link*

So doublecmd-qt5 and winff don't build with new Lazarus.

What is the SlackBuilds policy in this situation?

a) Stay with current Lazarus 2.2.6 and hope that all packages will
eventually build correctly? Who keeps checking this and how?

b) Notify maintainers and upgrade Lazarus to 3.0 anyway?

c) Other?

I would suggest to notify the maintainer to give them time to solve the
issue before upgrading to new version.

winff seems easy to fix, but doublecmd-qt5 might need more time to fix
or wait for upstream to support lazarus 3.0 and backport patch

Another option is to gzip the patch

Re: [Slackbuilds-users] amavisd-new dependencies

2023-12-14 Thread Willy Sudiarto Raharjo
The package amavisd-new doesn't have it's dependencies listed in it's
info file but they are listed in a README.SBo file. It would be much
easier to install using slpkg if the dependencies where listed
correctly. Also the dependencies list is outdated since re2c, and
probably others that don't come to my mind right now, is still listed
and this is now an official slackware package. I can offer to modify the
info file as a contribution.

Feel free :)
the maintainer hasn't maintain this script for over 4 years so new
maintainer is best option

Re: [Slackbuilds-users] rdfind

2023-12-13 Thread Willy Sudiarto Raharjo

Sbo tool builders keep picking up the older rdfind slackbuild which has been
added to the 15.0 release. I’m curious if there’s plans to remove this package
or if we should all be blacklisting this older slackbuild?

It’s in Slackware therefor I would assume removal, just would like to bring attention to this.

Re: [Slackbuilds-users] seafile

2023-12-10 Thread Willy Sudiarto Raharjo
I went to test it today with the seafile package and unfortunately it's
not working. I don't understand why an admin script was created and not
left vanilla

The maintainer has abandoned this script 7 years ago
We didn't test all runtime execution, we just make sure it builds well
with our SlackBuild script. It's the maintainer's job to make sure it
works properly during execution.

If you are using it, it's best to step up and take over this script.
Otherwise we will remove it on next public update.

Re: [Slackbuilds-users] [RFC] Adding features to .info format.

2023-12-10 Thread Willy Sudiarto Raharjo

This RFC is not trying to make AARCH64 support mandatory, but is merely
suggesting to allow such an entry in the info files. (I.e., allow
sbolint to not bail out.)

When people see such entries in .info files, some may assume that it's
officially supported in SBo

Also, this change will make the templates inconsistent as some
application will have those entries while the others do not have.

Re: [Slackbuilds-users] python3-django 4.2.8 missing dependency

2023-12-10 Thread Willy Sudiarto Raharjo
1. I tried to build django 4.2.8 and 5.0, builds fine but doesn't launch
as typing-extensions seems to be missing.
I'm getting ModuleNotFoundError: No module named 'typing_extensions',
when I try launch django

Guessing this is the same situation for current, missing typing-extensions.

It's fixed on my branch

2. Why the name change on slackbuild? I ended up unable to upgrade my
previous installation due to new name (not a big problem for me, but...)

It was due to python 2/3 split
We do this in most of the python scripts to help with python 2->3
transition for next SBo repository

I assume you didn't follow our -users list?

python/python3-astroid: Updated for version 3.0.1.

python3-astroid has been updated to use an updated setuptools named
python3-setuptools-opt. This requires python3-astroid.SlackBuild to
nominate its use with something like:

     export PYTHONPATH=/opt/python3.9/site-packages

but this is missing at the moment and needs to be added somewhere before
python3-astroid will build.

Fixed in my branch

Re: [Slackbuilds-users] OpenShadingLanguage should be removed from approved (to admins)

2023-12-05 Thread Willy Sudiarto Raharjo
some days ago I've submitted a new tarball for OpenShadingLanguage, a
dependency of Blender. The new version is not an update but includes a
warning in README because it generates an error post compilation in the
slackbuild of Blender if OSL is autodetected and automatically enabled
(the build works fine but the script fails at the end when builds the
manpage cause a problem with Python and/or LLVM).

I reported the issue to Chris, the maintainer of Blender, and he has
temporary solved the issue by suppressing the build of manpage  if
OpenShadingLanguage is autodetected, so my warning in the OSL REAMDE
file is superfluous: Blender can be build with the support to
OpenShadingLanguage without errors.

Chris has submitted a new version of Blender slackbuild, but I cannot
remove the OpenShadingLanguage update from the submits because it is in
approved list.

Please remove OpenShadingLanguage from the approved submits, thanks

Re: [Slackbuilds-users] [RFC] Adding features to .info format.

2023-11-28 Thread Willy Sudiarto Raharjo

There have been repeated discussions about two features that the current
.info file format is missing:

1. aarch64 architecture. If in the past slarm64 was still an unofficial
port, with -current it is official, and quite widely available, given
the number of RPi machines available.

2. urls of the form https://example.test/address/ and
https://example.test/address/1.json , which are either not supported
by wget or can be mixed with each other, if downloaded into the same
directory, which is especially bad with Golang and Haskell builds,
which have many package-components, called 1.json.

To address this issue, I propose a backward-compatible change to .info
files format.

1. add DOWNLOAD_AARCH64 and DOWNLOAD_X86, a space-separated
bash-string-list, identical in function to DOWNLOAD and
DOWNLOAD_X86_64

2. add DOWNLOAD_NAME, DOWNLOAD_X86_64_NAME, DOWNLOAD_AARCH64_NAME, and
DOWNLOAD_X86_NAME, space-separated _optional_ strings, which, if
present, specify what the results of download should be named. If
they are absent, current logic is not changed.

This is my personal opinion and does not reflect other admins:

My take on aarch64 is NO official support in SBo, but we can take "ELSE
IF" in the SlackBuild to pass needed flags to build if the maintainer is
using aarch and have done some testing to make sure it builds fine on
aarch64. I personally don't have RPi machines to test it and we don't
have enough resources and time to handle 3 architecture at the same time
with over 8k scripts in SBo with only few active admins approving all
the submissions that are coming in daily basis.

I'm so grateful that Urchlay and Andrew has stepped up to help with the
linter and semi-automatic CI engine in github. It really helped us to
approve faster than before, but still requires some manual actions and
time to make sure everything works as expected.

i can't imagine how long would it take for the next repository to be
ready if we have to test 8k+ scripts x 3 architectures using the number
of resources we have.

Re: [Slackbuilds-users] petsc.SlackBuild - removal request

2023-11-17 Thread Willy Sudiarto Raharjo

I would like to request the removal of petsc.SlackBuild from SBo.
Such script was added to the SBo repo as a FreeFEM dependency in version
4.11. However, I changed it for FreeFEM v. 4.12. Thus, petsc is not
required anymore.

Re: [Slackbuilds-users] Conflicts and/or redundancies of slackbuilds of some python packages (constantly, incremental, hyperlink)

2023-11-12 Thread Willy Sudiarto Raharjo
Hi, recent update includes three new slackbuilds of python packages
supported by Python 3, but these are reduntant with other available
slackbuilds or may cause conflicts between different versions of the
same module:

1) redundancies

python3-incremental: this builds and installs incremental for Python 3,
but in the repository there is also the slackbuild incremental that
builds and installs for both Python 2 and Python 3. Both slackbuilds
build the same source.

Also python3-hyperlink (supporting Python 3) conflicts with hyperlink
(supporting both Python 2 and Python 3)

These redundancies should cause issues in the package management because
two different packages share the same files in Python 3

2) conflicts

python3- constantly builds constantly-23.10.4 for Python 3, but there is
also the slackbuild constantly, that builds and installs
constantly-15.1.0 for Python 2 and Python 3. This should cause conflicts
because in Python 3 could exist two different versions of the same module

those packages were added in last cycle to provide python3-packages only
i think the plan was to remove python2-packages but we need to have
python3-packages first in the repo before we can remove the old one.

Re: [Slackbuilds-users] libheif / cargo-c compiling problem

2023-11-04 Thread Willy Sudiarto Raharjo

Using Slackware64 15.0...

After today's updates, I tried to sboupgrade libheif, and the first thing
sboupgrade wanted to do was to build cargo-c. After downloading many
files, it unpacks cargo-c and then whines thusly:

...
cargo-c-0.9.27/src/config.rs
cargo-c-0.9.27/src/install.rs
cargo-c-0.9.27/src/lib.rs
cargo-c-0.9.27/src/pkg_config_gen.rs
cargo-c-0.9.27/src/target.rs
tar: /usr/sbo/repo/development/cargo-c/addr2line-0.19.0.crate: Cannot open: No
such file or directory
tar: Error is not recoverable: exiting now
Failure encountered while building cargo-c:
   cargo-c.SlackBuild return non-zero

Do you want to proceed? [n]
Failures:
   cargo-c: cargo-c.SlackBuild return non-zero

Perhaps there is something peculiar on my system, but before I go on the
hunt, can anyone in slackbuild land tell me whether their 64-bit 15.0
system is happy about compiling libheif?

Re: [Slackbuilds-users] Updates - 20231021.1

2023-10-22 Thread Willy Sudiarto Raharjo

I understand you prefer GitHub over GitLab? I've been using GitLab mainly just
to support the GitHub competitor to encourage healthy competition. But I can
switch to GitHub if it's easier for admins.

We support both platforms but the CI engine is only available at github
for now. If possible, we would like to support both platforms in the future.
