ah, maybe I understand what probably happened: you built qemu 2.6.0 having already installed qemu 2.4.x. version 2.4.x still included libcacard, that from version 2.5.x has been moved in a separate package. so it can be that you built against it, then when you upgraded the qemu package with 2.6.0
