Now i'm starting to wander if this is a really crap release of Debian.
I am getting E: Sorry, broken packages errors all other the place, no
matter what I try to do!
I did what Crossfire suggested:
apt-get install binutils gcc cpp make libc6-dev

I'd add a vote for win4lin.
Due to it's architecture, it's much more likely to work than WINE. So

win4lin environment. I've a client working a small business running

G'day all...
I've installed postfix + dovecot on a mailserver (using Maildir mailbox format). The domain MX record is in the process of being updated, and there is still mail for the organisation on another providers mailserver.
I set up fetchmail (using pop3 protocol) to download the mail, but

Puzzling result.
ls -l says that the files are the same size.
diff says that, even so, they're not the same.
Can anyone suggest a test to say whether they're X%
identical?
if the file sizes are the same and you think most
of the bytes are identical, cmp -l will give
you a decent report;

I'm planning on using Postifx on RH73 as a mail server for several domains;
the mail will be delivered to it and, retrieved via POP (perhaps IMAP
later);
apart for some web mail forms, there will no outbound smtp by the users

G'day...
Procmail is not installed.
postfix is configured to handle mail for the domain, and deliver locally.
(dovecot handles imap access to the mail.)
mailbox_command is not declared in /etc/postfix/main.cf
and
home_mailbox = Maildir/
(in main.cf)
There is no mbox, mail, etc - just Maildir
