I am convinced that there is something very wrong with High Sierra 10.13.4
on my iMac (Retina 4K, 21.5-inch, Late 2015), and I have found many people
asking questions of Apple with no answers so far.

Following my previous problems with the Mac getting stuck on the start up
progress bar, I erased the hard drive and reinstalled the OS. I then put
all my files back in place with Migration Assistant from my Time Machine
back up.

Here are the problems now:

• Lost icons on program (Affinity Photo). Before the wipe and reinstall,
both Notes and Photos had lost their icons.

• Sleep Wake failures. I have set the Mac to never sleep, yet it still
does. When it wakes from sleep, programs have to load again, including
Finder.

• Screen Saver problem. I have turned off the screen saver (it is set to
Never come on), yet it still activates after a long period of inactivity
(not sure how long).

• When I shut down the computer, I am nervous that it will not start up
properly as before the OS re-install. It seems to take a long time to start
up, but that may be because I am watching it more closely.

I am hoping for a software update from Apple very soon!

David
