Thanks for advice about downloading iOS 5. The only snag I hit was when I
entered my password at the end of the download, it would not accept it. Took
me some head scratching to work out this was because they had put me.com as
default. When I changed this to gmail, all was well.

Just finished installing it - as people have been saying, patience
pays off (and doing it at 6.30 in the morning).
One strange one though. I kept getting this error message - Apple ID
could not be created because of a server error
Then I went back and instead of putting in my birthday (i.e. 10th
But that's really sloppy - especially for Apple - because they don't
ask for your date of birth.

It should do as I believe there is minimum age requirements somewhere in the
TC.

Yes, that's why I thought they asked for it.
Though interestingly, they asked for my wife's but not mine. Although

over 18 if buying age restricted stuff, such as film
My point though is that they're asking the wrong question.
If someone asks me when my birthday is they'll get one answer. If they
ask for my date of birth, they'll get another. It was the only thing
in the setup process that confused me.
