but I find its more convinient/elegant that an update is trigerred only
when necessary!

FYI, XP does
allow for multiple executions during the day…I’ve been using it for
some time. On the schedule tab, you’ll notice an “Advanced”
button; that’s where you set the schedule to run, say, every two hours,
etc.
