The range equation composed of the following.
0) Range
1) Tx output conducted power
2) Rx input conducted power
3) Tx antenna gain
4) Rx antenna gain
5) operating frequency
Tx power is much easier to appreciate for significance
regarding range perception. However, Rx sensitivity
is another parame
I use Kevlar for my HLG fuse with great success. I just bought a second
batch of cloth and noticed that the old scraps left over are a couple shades
darker than the new kevlar. This is, as I've read, because of breakdown
somewhere at the molecular level. I've also heard that a layer or two

Talc is powdered rock. Not my first choice for light. Ultracoat is heavy.
Sand to desired finish. Give it a couple of light coats of Varathane.
This is what I use for HLG.

"best", as in, the lightest way to finish a solid balsa V tail on a two
meter Sovereign.
A friend says to rub in some talc, spray on clear lacquer and sand.
(over simplified).
I favor just covering it with ultracoat.

Hi,
I have worked with Kevlar, and have used 1.5 oz Kevlar on my Micro HLGs.
There are several issues you must consider. There is very little difference
between Kevlar and FG when it comes to laying up the mold. However, in the
mold preparation or perhaps the mold design, I offer 2 suggestions.

Since weight is probably not much concern in a large model I'd go with 22
gauge wire. You can get it most any town that has an electronics supply shop,
Digi-Key is online, Cermark advertised in your mags, maybe even a Radio
Shark. Your local hobby shop might even have some - mine does (
