[RCSE] Sky King RC Product is No Ka Oi (the best!)

2005-09-13 Thread glide
I want to publicly say on RCSE that Ed of Sky King RC is a great vendor.  I recently made a purchase of a composite Shrike from his company and he made the transaction smooth and easy.  The plane is top notch as with his service.  Mahalo Ed, I really appreciate it!   Aloha to all on RCSE.

Les, We are going to need some additional information concerning the type of plane you are going to use the covering on. Technically speaking, microfilm will be the lightest, but it contributes virtually no strength to something like a built up Spirit. There is a person on Ezone that is selling

Anyone can check this out easily. No formal education required. `Trim' your model to fly straight and level. Trip one side (wing) but not the other. (Double stick tape makes it easily and reversible.) Observe. Before someone jumps all over this simplification, let me caution that results w

2005-09-13 Thread Mark Drela
You can get dead-straight hard stainless steel wire from www.smallparts.com in 60" lengths. Not quite as hard as piano wire, but pretty close. The drawback is that the 0.06" size is about $12 a piece, plus an extra oversize shipping charge. They also have loose coils of hard stainless wire, bu

I sold my 8103 to a friend and before he could use it the battery self destructed while the radio was sitting in the box. He said that the only apparent damage was to the back side of the case and the battery cover. If anyone has a dead transmitter that they can part with I would appreciate it.

I have never seen anything longer than 36" in 'straight' wire. We used to get in coils when I was at NASA, but it was the very devil to straighten. However, we got pretty good at using a DUALL band saw blade welder to seld two peices of straight wire together in order to extend it. .bc
