2006-04-16 Thread Bruce DeVisser
Next weekend April 22 - 23, 2006 will be the 13th annual Los Banos Scale event. In spite of the unusually heavy rains, the site is in good condition, it just needs a good mowing, which the Park Rangers will take care of this week. We are expecting a good turnout, and with the weather outlook

This plane is almost fully restored, and wouldn't you know it, the wing rod has gone missing, [EMAIL PROTECTED] I don;t have measurements at the moment, but if you know you have a rod to spare, I'll buy it off of you. That usually makes the missing part reappear, buying it's replacement:-P

Hey now, Maybe you're using the wrong flux? Rosin flux won't work, you need acid flux to sloder to steel. Don't get your electronics close to it though, corrosion city! RobII *'`'*.,.*'`'*.,.*'`'*.,.*'`'*.,.*'`'*.,.*'`'*.,.*'`'*.,.*'`'*.,.* [EMAIL PROTECTED]

It's like getting up at 4 am driving 2 hours and then trudging 5 miles into the woods in 20 degree temperatures and sitting still for 8 or more hours waiting for a deer or turkey. You manage to see one or two, but never within range. Then trudging out and driving back home for a good 16 hour

Here it is a little different. If I choose I can bag the moose right on the driveway or next to the cabin. I can easily get someone else to do the butchering for a share of the meat if I want to be lazy. I don't see moose every day but it is rare to go more than three or four days without seeing

Now I know Sheldon has really been out soaring... ;-) The low altitude downwind turn with a large RES ship was a bad decision, should have just dumped those huge spoilers as it was flying away from you into the wind. The long walk of shame is better than a tree climb and/or breakage.

Gidday all, What you are trying to solder is most likely stainless steel and the only flux worth its salt is phosphoric acid. You will be amazed how well it works on stainless or any other material for that matter. A smidgeon on the end of a balsa stick is all that is needed and resin cored

Either the rods are stainless and you have to really beat on them, or you're not using enough heat. (Well, ok, not beat on them, but use different flux or something. I have bad luck soldering to stainless, but no less a source than Mark Drela tells me it can be done. Kind of reminds me of the
