2nd Annual International Postal Contest,
Ray Hayes Contest Director
Dear Ray,
The Silent
Wings Soaring Association of Covina, California is pleased to announce that we
will participate in the Second Annual International Postal contest.
SWSA is a
little club of approximately 75 soaring members with monthly contest attendance
of 45-50 entries.
(We would
appreciate being notified of any club that has a regular monthly contest with
greater attendance.)
Larry Jolly is
one of our members and Joe Wurts, Daryl Perkins and other dignitaries often
visit and participate in our contests. We have even been blessed with visits
by the internationally famous ambassador of gliding, Gordy
Stahl.
Didn't our
Larry Jolly win both of the classes in the January 1, 2004 contest?
All pilots
appearing on the field on January 1, 2005 will be asked to participate in the
contest. We are encouraging everyone with a qualifying woody to fly it in the
contest, but we will welcome the full house folks as well.
Following are
the names of some of the pilots that are expected to bring woodys:
Larry Jolly Dan Borer
Gene Hays
Major Anderson
Howard Little
Jeff Gortatowsky
John King
Doug McIntosh
Henry Rodriguez
Mike Nation
Bruce Aveson
We hope to be
able to post our scores along with photos shortly after the
contest. |
