The glider was an ASG29, and the jet pilot, flying at approximately 300 knots, would have been hard pressed to see the sailplane in time to avoid. See and avoid being the operative words, I'm quite sure that the jet pilot would have given the right of way had the glider been seen. Makes me pucker

NTSB Preliminary Report: http://www.ntsb.gov/ntsb/brief.asp?ev_id=20060906X01297key=2 The glider is an ASG29 which is certified in the US as ASW27-18. Presumably someone thought it would be quicker and easier to get certification for the new ASG29 if they submitted it as an 18-meter version
