I would like to upgrade to a Speed 400/480 size brushless motor,
probably one for direct drive and one for a planetary gear box. If
anyone has suggestions as to which is the best, most reliable,

turn 6 to 8 cells, and pm520 20 cell turn 7 to 10 cell. both are $79 from
hobby lobby. It has a 480 output with less amp draw for 10 to 30oz planes.

Nobody has put in a good word for Astroflight motors, but I have a
couple of Astro 010s and I love 'em. The 020 would seem to be a
perfect replacement for a Speed 400. Beautiful workmanship and nice
folks.
