I just finished building a Ford long shaft winch and retriever, using Laser
Arts blueprints. Both units turned out very nice. LAs shop prints were
terrific!

1. What (1) kind and (2) strength of winch line would you recommend?

Bill, the line strength depends on what you plan on launching. If you plan to be able
to launch todays high performance planes to
their optimal heigth, I'd recommend #240 braided or mono. I use #240 on mine and we
rarely have a line break. If you have a Gentle
