Sad to see Soekris gone, but it was not unexpected.
I've seen lots of posts about alternative fanless/industrial SBCs, but I
have never seen CompuLab mentioned. I have a FitPC2 and an AirTop and
they are awesome.
They aren't cheap, but they are solid.

It is more likely that the noise you are hearing is coming from the
magnetics rather than from any capacitors. There are planar
transformers in the switching power supply and the Ethernet interface.
Sometimes the transformer core material has a natural frequency harmonic
in the audio

certain that there are no power and ground layers within the net5501
multi-layer
