Parenting to model branch selects it

Hi list, Is there a way to stop SI from branch-selecting a model after I parent something to it? It annoys me every single time. I just want the parented object to remain selected.

You can use the Parent Objects command and assign it to a key in your keyboard layout. I think it isn't asigned by default. You could create a button for this command if you don't want to change your keyboard. ParentObjects(null); It parents your objects (can be multiple objs) to the last
