Http status 503 Error in solr cloud setup

2013-06-29 Thread Sagar Chaturvedi
Hi,

I setup 2 solr instances on 2 different machines and configured 2 zookeeper
servers on these machines also. When I start solr on both machines and try to
access the solr web-admin then I get following error on browser -
Http status 503 - server is shutting down

When I setup a single standalone solr without zookeeper, I do not get this
error.

Any insights ?

Thanks and Regards,

Thanks Alexandre for the link. It was really helpful.

The original text will be in UTF-8.

Well, you would need a tokenizer, probably a stemmer, a list of stop-words (to
ignore). Is the original text in UTF8 or is it in some alternative encoding.

A quick search showed that there is an academic paper where they are trying to
work with Mongolian to get it into Lucene. It seems quite relevant and would be
a great point to start:
http://scholar.google.ca/scholar?cluster=15851397934729234574hl=enas_sdt=0,5

It also lists a lot of challenges that happened with other languages before
UTF8 became the main standard (Russian and Ukranian come to mind).

Hope it helps,
Alex.

RE: Fuzzy search in solr

2013-05-26 Thread Sagar Chaturvedi
Thank you jack for the response.

Fuzzy search is the syntax for a term, not a handler. For example: alpha~1
will match terms that have an editing distance of 0 or 1 from alpha.
So the search query string will be like - /term?q= alpha~1

But, are you sure you really mean fuzzy search, as opposed to, say,
 spellcheck?
Yes, I need to implement fuzzy search. Spell check matches exact string but
fuzzy search is done for approximately matching strings. Please correct me if
my understanding is wrong.

All of the search handlers support fuzzy search. Some query parsers, such as
dismax, do not, but the standard Solr query parser and edismax query parser do.

Solr cloud setup

2013-05-20 Thread Sagar Chaturvedi

Hi,

I am new to Solr. I have a question regarding solrCloud - What is the
difference between solr and solrcloud?

Also please let me know if the complete procedure to setup solr cloud is
mentioned somewhere.

Regards,
Sagar
