 instead of 1 tick, but otherwise: yes.

If the test did:
poll(0, 0, 1);
gettimeofday();
run_test();
gettimeofday();
It should be able to distinguish between the 'no sleep' and 'sleep
for one tick' cases.

Hmmm... NetBSD usually uses +ve errno values.
