Michael, I know this will not sound very helpful to you, but I just did a new
installation of
Eclipse 3.0 and downloaded SJ Eclipse from the update site, restarted Eclipse,
and SJ Eclipse
worked flawlessly.

The only restriction on JRE is 1.4 or later. You should be fine with your
setup, but obviouly
there's a problem. Sorry I have not had a chance to do the "clean room" install
of the plugin
