Fuel shortage in Yambio threatens telephone operators to close
YAMBIO (22 Sep.)

A fuel shortage in Yambio, the administrative headquarters of Gbudwe state,
is causing a concern to the telecommunication network operating companies
fearing they could be forced to cease operation.

Multiple sources and residents from Yambio town have expressed fears that
Viva Cell network has informed its customers in the area that they would be
forced to close down due to fuel shortages.

The violence that erupted on July 8th in Juba and quickly spread to Western
and Central Equatoria has resulted in closedown of most roads leading to
the area. Sources said currently few traders get limited amount of diesel
from Democratic Republic of Congo.
