The World Health Organization has warned that malaria cases are on the rise in the country. It says so far, some 800,000 people have received treatment for the disease within the last five months alone for malaria through static, outreach and mobile health teams. In a report, the WHO says an outbreak was declared in a camp for internally displaced people in Bentiu. It says by the 28th August, malaria outbreaks in almost all states of the country had exceeded the Epidemic limits. The WHO says it has supported airlifting of malaria medicines and commodities and malnutrition kits to Northern Bahr el Ghazal, which it says is one of the most affected areas. It says it has also donated malaria medicines and commodities to affected areas in other areas. -- To post to this group, send email to southsudankob@googlegroups.com To unsubscribe from this group, send email to southsudankob+unsubscr...@googlegroups.com Visit this group at https://groups.google.com/d/forum/southsudankob View this message at https://groups.google.com/d/msg/southsudankob/topic-id/message-id For more options, visit https://groups.google.com/d/optout --- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "South Sudan Info - The Kob" group.
