Over 50 Killed And 70 Wounded In Gok State
Over 50 people have been confirmed dead and more than 70 others
wounded following intra-communal revenge attacks on Saturday against
the Ayiel section in Cueibet County by armed youth from Waat, Kongor
and Pagok.

CUEIBET, 07 August 2017 [Gurtong]- In an Interview with Gurtong, the
Police Commissioner of Gok State, Azuma Mangar said that the fighting
among these communities erupted in the Southern and Northern part of
the State capital.

“The number of people wounded on both sides is high and as per now the
exact number of casualties is not yet clear” said Azum Mangar.

He said the State government has received reinforcement of soldiers
from brigade 3 of division six in Rumbek to restore calm and order in
Cueibet State capital.

He said, those who sustained serious wounds have been rushed to
Western Lakes State hospital for treatment while others are being
locally treated in the remote villages.

The chairperson of Gok community, Samuel Wil Machiek condemned the
tragedy among the armed Youth in Gok State.
