Rights group condemns killing of civilians on Juba-Nimule road The Centre for Peace and Justice (CPJ), a human rights entity in South Sudan, has deplored Wednesday’s attack on a civilian convoy along the Juba-Nimule highway.
CPJ’s executive coordinator blamed the East African regional bloc IGAD for failing to bring about a sustainable peace in South Sudan. “CPJ condemns the attack in the strongest terms possible. Those who will claim the responsibility should to be taken to court,” said Tito Anthony. The rights body urged the international community to resuscitate the 2015 peace agreement. Unknown gunmen on Wednesday morning ambushed a convoy of buses on the main road connecting South Sudan’s capital with the Ugandan border, killing at least four civilians. -- To post to this group, send email to southsudankob@googlegroups.com To unsubscribe from this group, send email to southsudankob+unsubscr...@googlegroups.com Visit this group at https://groups.google.com/d/forum/southsudankob View this message at https://groups.google.com/d/msg/southsudankob/topic-id/message-id For more options, visit https://groups.google.com/d/optout --- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "South Sudan Info - The Kob" group.
