Wau govt says UNMISS to build over 30 neighbourhood police posts in Wau WAU (14 Oct.)
Local authorities in Wau State have announced a plan to establish more than 30 neighbourhood police posts in Wau town in collaboration with the UN mission in South Sudan. In a press conference in Wau town yesterday, Bona Gaudensio, Minister of Information, said that the United Nations Mission In South Sudan (UNMISS) and other non-governmental organizations have accepted to support more than 30 neighbourhood police posts in the town. “The UN has worked out its plans, and the government has handed over the responsibility of over 30 neighbourhoods in Wau, so it will build more than 30 police posts, UNMISS has already started this plan,” said Bona. The state minister pointed out that the UN-backed security plan reached advanced stages to build more than 30 police posts in Wau neighbourhoods. Bona claimed that the security situation returned to normal after deployment of police patrols at night in the town, saying police authorities managed to arrest several criminals and that they will be taken to trial. -- To post to this group, send email to southsudankob@googlegroups.com To unsubscribe from this group, send email to southsudankob+unsubscr...@googlegroups.com Visit this group at https://groups.google.com/d/forum/southsudankob View this message at https://groups.google.com/d/msg/southsudankob/topic-id/message-id For more options, visit https://groups.google.com/d/optout --- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "South Sudan Info - The Kob" group.
