Hello,
Does anyone know if there is a way to create stored profiles via spacewalk
command line?
I have a bunch of servers to do and doing each one, one by one is a bit tedious.
Cheers

Hello,
I am trying to get my debian wheezy client to register to spacewalk server
I was able to get it registered however the systemID was not created.
Can anyone tell me how I fix this?
Please and thank you

Hey Waldirio
Did ya get a chance to see why a debian client might not show a base channel
upon registering to spacewalk?
Is there something special that needs to be done for debian client?

Honestly, I found osad unreliable long term.
It’s a lot more reliable to setup a cron that does an rhn_check every 5 mins on
your rhn clients ☺

Also the osad package… I think is only available in the child channel
(network-tools) If you don’t have that child channel available on the key, it
wont pull the package down from spacewalk ☺
Did you add the child-channel to your activation key?

I ran the script again, seems like it running through.
Might just be a timeout issue which, that also allowed me to choose the base
channel for debian which wasn’t available before.

Yes,
If you register the same machine twice, the old profile does not get over
written, it simply creates duplicates.
This is normal behavior. You have to look at the date of the profile and delete
the previous one as only of them will work.

Hi Nick.
I for one would love to hear
When you clone a channel it will have the previous errata, however
spacewalk/satellite will be able to detect which errata has been applied.
So only the errata that has not been applied will show up needing to be applied
from the new cloned channel ☺

I was able to resolve the issue.
For whatever reason, even though reposync isn't writing to /tmp. Its still
using /tmp as a temporary instance buffer.
Increasing /tmp to 5gigs resolved the issue.
