I think that given that there is a virus storm going on right now, that this
sort of behaviour could be expected.

I disabled it Friday due to timeouts.

In my experience, razor often has short-term problems that last a couple 
days then clear up.

Right now they're probably experiencing high load, just like everything 
else email related, due to the sco.a/mydoom/mimail_r virus/worm.

I figure I'll turn it on again in a day or two after the bulk of the virus 
blows over, if the timeouts persist I'll send an email over to cloudmark.

Has anyone else noticed frequent timeouts with Razor2 ?

I'm seeing timeouts nearly all the time from most of the Razor servers
causing spamd to take 10 seconds instead of the usual 1 second or so...
(I've also noticed more spam than usual slipping through)

Anyone know whats up ? Couldn't see anything about it over on the razor
homepage or mailing list archives

I actually just noticed this now.  The razor2 servers aren't responding
properly it would seem.  Haven't since yesterday.

Of the servers I see in my razor2 catalog, anxiety.cloudmark.com and
wonder.cloudmark.com do not respond to the signatures sent to them
(although the initial connection and setup seem to work).  These connections
hang and eventually time out...or, if your razor_timeout is set high enough,
will simply be reset and cause errors in spamd like:

razor2 check skipped: Connection reset by peer Died at
/usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.8.0/Mail/SpamAssassin/Dns.pm

thrill.cloudmark.com responds normally, except it returns mail # is not
spam for all mail.

A quick grepmail of my user mailboxes finds that RAZOR2_* rule hits stopped
sometime yesterday, no hits today.

I noticed this as well.  I bumped my timeout to 15 seconds and that
helped for awhile, but it's started timing out again.  I hesitate to
bump it any more for obvious reasons.  Wonder what's up?

Ah... Yes I just disabled it myself last night after about half an hour of 
debugging to make sure it wasn't a software problem on our server seems 
like only some of the servers were overloaded, anxiety.cloudmark.com seemed 
ok, but I couldn't get the razor client to always use that, I kept getting

Yep.

Thanks for confirming its not just me, I just thought it was strange that 
nobody so much as said boo about it on the list, usually when there are RBL 
timeouts theres half a dozen people saying eeek! my load average has gone 
through the roof :-)

(It definately increased our load average up into the danger area)
