I believe the idea is right but your example is wrong. 4.92 rounds to 4.9, not to 5.0 It may have been any number between 4.95 and 4...., say 4.983 I think the hits= is a rounded number. My suggestion is to move your filter threshold to 4.5 and stop worrying about it.
