Opening/Preview: 13th April 2017, 5-7pm

After many months of fruitful collaborations between artists and FET projects, FEAT and LifeSpace Science Art Research Gallery at the University of Dundee are pleased to present the premier of FUTURE EMERGING ART AND TECHNOLOGY, an exhibition of artworks created by internationally acclaimed artists working in collaboration with cutting edge European Union research projects, exploring gene regulation, quantum physics, underwater robotics, carbon capture, and exascale computing.

The exhibition includes new artworks by boredomresearch, Evelina Domnitch and Dmitry Gelfand, Anna Dumitriu, Špela Petrič & MihaTuršič, Semiconductor, and Pinar Yoldas, created through in-depth embedded residencies at the forefront of new research in EU Future Emerging Technology (FET) projects working side-by side with scientists.

With LifeSpace Dundee, we have found the perfect partner gallery for FEAT. The research-driven gallery space is curated as a collaborative partnership between researchers from Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design and researchers from the School of Life Sciences. It not only enables opportunities for interdisciplinary art and science interactions, but also provides a location for curatorial exchange between students, researchers and the general public. LifeSpace’s mission is very much aligned with the aims of FEAT as they are looking to engage artists and scientists in new collaborations and to foster long-term cross-disciplinary activity and reciprocal inspiration processes.

“FEAT is an initiative of eutema GmbH (AT), Stichting Waag Society (NL), and youris.com (BE). It has received funding from the European Union's Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under grant agreement No 686527 (H2020-FETOPEN-2015-CSA).
