My own child was exactly in such a situation with other kids during 1999
when NATO bombed Belgrade. For him it was fun, but not for me.

Folks, maybe it's just me, but instead of posting ("in solidarity with
Ukraine") links to some private data service run by Alphabet or Meta,
maybe you could try and describe a thought, an observation, or make an
argument ("in solidarity with Ukraine") that is somehow unique to this
particular channel? Or crosspost relevant stuff that adds to our
exchange here.

And for Facebook, Twitter or Youtube, maybe go to Facebook, Twitter or
Youtube?

Dear friends,

STATEMENT

MADATAC [1] [New Media Digital Audiovisual Art Festival] announces that
its next 12th edition due in Madrid in November 2022, which call will
be announced shortly, will be dedicated to Ukraine as the guest
country.

On the other hand, Russia's brutal and unjustified military aggression
and crimes against humanity in Ukraine, forces MADATAC to make the
decision to join the international boycott and veto the participation
of Russian art foundations and institutions, and every art community or
cultural private or public organizations that supports Putin and
Russia's genocide of the Ukrainian people, in MADATAC Festival for an
unlimited time, as a measure of pressure to motivate them to rise up
and rebel against the totalitarian and autocratic tyranny of the
Kremlin that has endangered world peace.

On behalf of cultural organisations and institutions in Ukraine, we are
asking for your solidarity and support. We call to boycott the Russian
state now, until it completely withdraws from Ukraine and is held
responsible for its war crimes:

Suspend Russian participation in international cultural events such as
festivals, biennials, exhibitions, art and literature fairs;

Boycott events organised by Russian institutions as well as
international foundations that are directly and indirectly linked to or
funded by Putin's regime and Russian capital;

Cancel any cooperation with Russian artists, no matter how great or
famous, as long as they openly support Putin's regime, silence its
crimes, or do not publicly and directly oppose it;

Remove representatives affiliated with the Russian state or Russian
capital from supervisory and advisory boards of your organisations;

Refuse any donations, funding or sponsorship from Russian
organisations, their proxies and affiliates based in other countries.

Today, the trope of 'the great Russian culture' is dangerous. Based on
colonial and imperial legacy, it promotes aggression, exclusion,
intolerance, and crimes against humanity.

Please help Ukraine by suspending any cultural cooperation with the
Russian Federation and communicate your decision publicly to encourage
your peers to follow your example.

We have the power to stop the bloodshed and war. Let's combine our
efforts and end Russia's war on freedom, democratic values, truth, and
the whole civilised world.boycott the Russian state

To the art community,

As an international community engaged in contemporary art--museum
professionals, artists, educators, curators, writers--L'Internationale
urges everyone to immediately oppose the Russian army's invasion of
Ukraine. This act of cruel aggression should be resisted with all the
means at our disposal. We strongly believe that the war in Ukraine is
a fight for freedom, for the future of democracy, the global legal
order, and respect for human rights, including the right to
self-determination. We caution everyone against ignoring this
threat--for our friends in Ukraine, this war rightfully brings back
tragic memories of the Second World War and the Nazi invasion.

The gravity of this situation requires appropriate measures to be
taken. Apart from the full package of sanctions that were and will be
imposed by the EU, we call for the artistic community to immediately
cease any collaborations with institutions and individuals who have
direct ties with Putin's regime and refuse to renounce their
